Who we are

The Pixel Fan (thepixelfan.com) is a World Cup 2026 fan companion app. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, and how it is used. We keep this simple — we are a small fan project, not a data company.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google we receive the following data from Google and store it in our database:

• —Email address — Used as your unique account identifier
• —Display name — Shown in your profile within the app
• —Profile picture URL — Displayed as your avatar (optional, from your Google account)

We also store the game data you create inside the app:

• —Your selected nation (team Pixie)
• —Your fan points total and cheer history
• —Your push notification subscription token (only if you opt in)

We do not collect passwords, payment card details, location data, or any other sensitive personal information.

How we use your data

• —Sync your Pixie, nation selection, and fan points across your devices
• —Display your name and avatar in your profile
• —Send push notifications about match updates or new features (only if you opt in)
• —Communicate important service changes via email
• —Understand aggregate usage to improve the app (no individual tracking)

What we do not do

• —We do not sell your personal data to anyone
• —We do not use your data for advertising or profiling
• —We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing
• —We do not track you across other websites

Third-party services we use

To operate the service we rely on the following sub-processors. Your data may pass through their infrastructure:

• —Google OAuth — Sign-in authentication only
• —Supabase — Database hosting for your account and game data
• —Vercel — App hosting and global content delivery

Guest users

If you use The Pixel Fan without signing in, no personal data is collected or stored on our servers. Your progress is saved in your browser's local storage only and will be lost if you clear your browser data.

Push notifications

Push notifications are entirely optional. If you grant permission, we may notify you about World Cup match moments, new cheer animations, or service updates. You can withdraw permission at any time through your browser or device notification settings. Revoking permission does not affect your account.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in between visits. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request.

Children's privacy

The Pixel Fan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
